Match Profile

Our match profile is as follows: 



Unlimited and factory class shooters are shooting together in the ARA matches. The match shooter limit is 8 total shooters. For more than 8 shooters, two relays will be set up alternating targets. Please refer to our match calendar on the ARA website for the dates and target numbers match information. 



The match location is at the Yates County Sportsmen’s Association, 454 Route 54, Penn Yan, NY. Both Yates County Sportsmen’s Association members and non-members are welcome to shoot in the match. Members pay $5 per target. Non-members pay a slightly higher fee for match fees.

Any youth age 7 to 17 years of age as of January 1 of a current competitive season may participate. Juniors must be capable of loading, unloading, aiming, and safely manipulating their own rifles and equipment without assistance. They may, however, receive assistance in setting up the equipment on the bench, but during sanctioned events, they must aim, load, and fire their own rifles without assistance or coaching during the firing period. All fees are waived for junior shooters.

Registration begins one hour before the match begins.



Range safety rules are our top priority and will be strictly followed by all shooters. Please ask the MD if you need safety rule clarifications.

 Our ARA shooters volunteer for our target scoring team and will score your targets after the match shooting. 

We work hard to do the target scoring as quickly and accurately as possible. You must be present after the scoring team is finished to review your target score accuracy for any protest or math correction. All results are finalized after the review period. We want you as a shooter to enjoy the match safely and to go home with all the points you have earned.
